Anonymous FTP

Anonymous FTP is a type of file transfer protocol that allows a connection to a server without having to provide a username or password. On certain servers they may require a username and password but they provide both. Most will use the word “anonymous” as the user id. Generally anonymouse FTP is used on servers that allow open access to information or data that is available to the public.
