Database

A database is simply a file structure that holds information organized according to predetermined fields. These fields then make it possible to add, remove, edit or delete the information that resides in the respective field.

In web hosting, the most common database structure is MySQL. These databases are used in instances of blogs, content management systems, and any other software where large amounts of data need to be stored and organized.
